Following the latest endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term, a group under the auspices of Arewa Patriotic Forum (APF) has accused the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) of violating its non-partisan stand.
A statement issued by the forum’s national coordinator, Shehu Gambo, and made available to DAILY POST, said, ” ACF is now a political organization against its principle of non partisan stand before.
“If you check ACF mission and vision they said the forum is not partisan but now ACF has violated its own rule by endorsing President Buhari.
“To us,ACF is not speaking for us but themselves because just recently the forum while reacting to Atiku Abubakar’s endorsements said only Nigerians will decide the faith of politicians.”
It would be recalled that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) had endorsed the candidature of Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 16, 2019 poll.
However, Professor Ango Abdullahi-led faction of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) had recently endorsed the candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
ACF, which prides itself as the political compass of the North, said it has carefully studied the antecedents of major presidential candidates, the manifestos and policy documents of their parties, alongside the need for social, political and economic stability in the country, it has come to conclusion that, President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term to consolidate on his achievements.
