Arsenal midfielder, Lucas Torreira, has disclosed the Gunners’ target this season.

According to Torreira, the Club’s target this campaign is to qualify for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal are currently in sixth position on the Premier League table following their 3-1 defeat against Manchester City over the weekend.

Unai Emery’s side must finish in top-four on the Premier League table this season in order to qualify for the Europe topflight league tournament next season but Torreira believes a big club like Arsenal deserves to be playing in the Champions League.

“Just a few weeks ago, (Manchester) United were obviously behind us but it’s happened and it’s something we have to deal with.

“We obviously don’t want that form to happen again. As players, you always need to be fighting for an objective when you walk out onto the pitch and our target for us that means qualifying for the Champions League.

“The squad is focused on qualifying for the Champions League because a big club like Arsenal deserves to be playing in that competition,” Torreira was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying.
